Corona Virus, tips and recommendations​

Many of you will have found or are looking for a job abroad. Maybe because you simply want a change, a new adventure or because you are looking for an internship to finish your studies.

Now, you might be a bit nervous due to all sorts of information about the corona virus that is available and might not know where to look for information for the country you are wanting to move to. So hereby we provide you with some links where you can find information about the developments in that particular country.

Most countries maintain the same rules for self-care, but below you can find the information on most of the countries we work in.

European Union

European Comision – Corona virus response:

Here you can find all relevant information regarding what the EU recommends and are doing as prevention methods.


Ministerio de Sanidad, Consumo y Bienestar Social (Ministry of Health, Consumption and Social Welfare):

Although the website indicated is in English most of the updates will only be available in Spanish.

The Spanish government recommends:

  1. To wash your hands thoroughly
  2. Avoid touching eyes, nose and mouth
  3. Cover your mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing
  4. Use tissue paper only once and dispose of them directly
  5. If you do present respiratory problems call 061 and avoid social contact


Republica Portuguesa:

Most Information on this website is in Portuguese.

The portuguese government recommends:

  1. When sneezing or coughing do this in your elbow or use a paper tissue and dispose of them directly
  2. Frequently wash your hands with soap and water and use disinfectant hand sanitizer
  3. Avoid social contact and keep at least 1 Meter from other people
  4. If in doubt contact 802 24 24 24

The Netherlands

Rijksoverheid (Government):

(RIVM) Rijksinstituut voor Volksgezondheid en Milieu (National Institute for Health and Environment):


The Dutch government recommends the following:

  1. When sneezing or coughing do this in your elbow or use a paper tissue
  2. Thoroughly wash your hands
  3. Don’t shake hands with other people
  4. Avoid social contact if and when you experiencing symptoms like coughing, sneezing and/or fever a



Health Service Executive:

The Irish government recommends the following:

  1. wash your hands frequently with soap and water or use an alcohol-based hand rub if your hands are not visibly dirty
  2. practice good respiratory hygiene, that is, when coughing and sneezing, cover your mouth and nose with flexed elbow or tissue – discard tissue immediately into a closed bin and clean your hands with alcohol-based hand rub or soap and water
  3. maintain social distancing, that is, leave at least 1 metre (3 feet) distance between yourself and other people, particularly those who are coughing, sneezing and have a fever
  4. avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth – if you touch your eyes, nose or mouth with your contaminated hands, you can transfer the virus from the surface to yourself\

If you do have symptoms of COVID-19 (Coronavirus), you should phone your doctor or emergency department (ED) immediately.

Do not visit a doctor or ED. Phone them first. This is so you do not accidentally put other people at risk. If you do not have a doctor, phone 112 or 999.
